Mission

The mission of Spectrum Community Services, Inc.. is to provide quality and individually based services to persons with mental disabilities. Our goal is to "Help People Reach Their Potential" with a "whatever it takes" attitude.

History

Spectrum Community Services, Inc. (Carbon, Monroe, Pike, and Berks Counties), a non-for-profit group of agencies, was founded in 1993 by its President and CEO, Nathaniel J. Williams. The agency was formerly known as Foundation for Progressive Living, Inc. and prior to that was known as CCCLA (Carbon County Community Living Arrangements, Inc.). CCCLA was originally founded in 1979 by a group of parents who were looking for some type of living arrangement for their grown children with mental retardation.
